Navigating Solar Warranties

One of the questions we get asked by first-time clients all the time is: “How do solar warranties work?”

Now there are three types of solar warranties

Number 1. The Panels!

So when you buy a solar system for power, those panels are warrantied for 25 years. What it means is that they’re guaranteed to work for 25 years and continue to produce power.

Now depending on the panel that you buy, that production guarantee can be anywhere from 85% of the power they were producing from day 1 all the way up to 92% if you opt for a more highly efficient premium panel.

Number 2. Your Inverter

Your inverter is what actually transforms the energy you get directly from the sun into usable energy AC that can actually power your home and turn on your lights and your coffee maker, and help you watch your tv and all that good stuff.

Now your inverter is warrantied anywhere from 12-25 years, and a lot of times we will also include an extended option for 30 years which makes it a complete no-brainer.

Number 3 is the workmanship

Our workmanship warranty is for 10 years and what that means is that all the work that we do in your house when we’re installing your solar system when we’re on your roof when we’re working inside your electrical panels.

All of that work is warrantied for 10 years to make sure that there are absolutely no issues.

So between 25 years on the panel, 12-30 years on the panel, 10 years on the workmanship warranty, truly we’ve got you covered when it comes to protecting your solar investment and making sure it provides value for you for the long haul.
